Professional disclaimer

The Neuroparenting Hub provides educational support, interpretation and guidance for learners, parents and schools.

Where my role fits

I often work with information already gathered by other professionals. This may include educational psychology reports, occupational therapy reports, speech and language reports, school assessments, accommodation recommendations and other professional input.

I use that information to help families understand what it may mean for the learner’s day-to-day educational experience.

I do not conduct psychological, medical or clinical assessments and I do not diagnose conditions. My work does not replace the advice or services of an educational psychologist, psychologist, psychiatrist, doctor, occupational therapist, speech therapist or another appropriately qualified professional.

Where a question falls outside my educational scope, I may recommend that a family return to an existing practitioner or seek input from another professional.

Reports and professional findings

Report-to-Reality™ and related learning-support services do not replace, amend or override the findings of the professional who conducted an assessment.

The purpose is to look at how those findings may be showing up in school, learning, homework, studying, written work, organisation and the learner’s wider educational experience.

If something in a report needs clinical clarification, that question should be taken back to the professional responsible for the assessment.

Educational decisions

Support around school fit, learning pathways, accommodations and parent-school communication is intended to help families think through the available information.

I cannot guarantee that a school, examining body or other institution will accept a recommendation or implement a particular accommodation. Final decisions remain with the family and, where applicable, the relevant school, examining authority or professional body.

Recommendations

The people, places and tools recommended on this website are included because I have a personal or professional reason for considering them worth exploring.

A recommendation is not a guarantee that a provider, school or service will be the right fit for every learner or family. Where I have an active professional or commercial relationship with an organisation I recommend, I disclose it.

In an emergency

The Neuroparenting Hub is not an emergency, crisis or medical service. If you are concerned about an immediate risk to a child or another person, please contact the appropriate emergency, medical or mental-health service in your area.
